BRAINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS....

Here's a new art piece - Tarman from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD!

What a great film! Another one of my favorite horror films. Its always been a toss up between illustrating the Tarman or the half naked zombie corpse that they capture that explains that they need to eat brains to make the pain go away. I obviously went with the tar-ster.

Still gotta add some color and wording...

Sorry about the stamp on the art, Ive gotta watch out for people trying to steal my artwork now-a-days... jeez.

Enjoy.

ONE OF MY FAVS...

I dont know about the rest of y'guys, but Freddy vs. Jason is one of my favorite horror films. I love it! To me it has just the right amount of cheeziness to make it one of the best. The gore was good, the effects were good, the acting was good. I really didnt see any problems with it.

So it was only a matter of time before I finally got around to actually doing a homage piece to show my appreciation for these two fine horror icons. Heres the rough sketch. Im not really liking the way Ive got Freddy posed so I'll be changing his stance, but I love the over should look Jason has on him.

Stay tuned, I'll keep posting updates on the progress of the piece.

Enjoy.

FCBD RECAP!

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY was a HUGE success! Talk about a lot of fun! Ive done FCBD three other times in the past few years and none of them measure up to this one. The folks over at Criminal were not only super nice, but had there act together very nicely.
They treated all of us like rock stars offering food and water whenever needed. The crowds were insane lined up in front of the door and throughout the day the traffic coming and going was constant. I gave away all 50 of the free Spidey 11x17 posters along with all 50 of the 8.5x11 posters of the same image. I got to meet A LOT of local people that follow me on FB and did a few sketches too.

Over all, it was an awesome day!

Special thanx again to Lillian Hughes, Eric Ludgood, and Criminal Records Atlanta for having me for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! I had a great time and appreciate how awesome everyone was, thank you! I also wanted to give BIG thanx to everyone that came out to say hi, and picked up some art and comix!

PG.14

These first 25+ pages, as silly as it sounds, have been some what of a challenge for me. Drawing just straight up dialogue, as an artist, can come off sorta tedious. I tend to get impatient waiting to draw the fun exciting pages filled with action or gore. But lately, I've really been understanding the need for making those dialogue pages to stand out and "pop" just as much as an action page. I've turned it into a little game in my head to see what would be the best angle or position for the characters to be in for a panel. Plus playing with the shadowing more is becoming the most fun in every page. Im just feeling like everything is finally kicking in on what should go where and how certain things should be looking. Sounds silly, especially after working on RIPPED, which was 120 pages, you'd think I'd have some sort of grasp of things. But, like I said, I think its finally just all "clicking" and Im not having to struggle as much with it anymore.

Anywho, heres page 14 of B.O.E.

Thoughts are welcome.

Enjoy.

BLOODY OLDE ENGLUND - IT'S STARTING...

Bobby and I have been pushing around some good ideas to get the ball rolling on this long awaited project of ours and as long as everything stays on schedule, its going to ROCK! Ive been posting pages as I finish inking them, here on FB and on my personal blog. I'll be continuing that up until page 22. From there after will be nothing but select sneak peeks on pages. We should have a blog up and running for the book within the next month or so. Keep an eye out for tons of new things! As for now, here is the current logo for the book, designed by my good buddy, NATHAN MORRIS.

Enjoy.

NEW IDEAS...

Ive come up with a few new ideas to help keep this blog chugging along while Im working on new pieces and artwork for BLOODY OLDE ENGLUND. Ive decided to start up my "Random Thoughts" again where I will be talking about anything and everything from films Ive recently seen or are my all time favorites, to music or things just going on around town.

First up, a band Im really, really into right now - THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM.

It probably sounds silly to say, but I feel like as we each learn and grow from our own personal experiences in life there tends to be at least one band along the way that is there in that period of time that understands what it is we all might be going through. I feel like this band is that band for me. It's almost a transition to adult hood the songs these guys belt. They just sing wisdom to my heart and make me feel better knowing someone understands sometimes.

Anywho, here's one of my favs from them: "GREAT EXPECTATIONS"...

ENJOY>

P.S.- For those that check this blog regularly, AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, you will notice some new additions to the page, along with some changes to the design layout. Hope everyone likes!
